What is an LOC Community Partner?
Many communities within the Cumberland River Basin have broad education, outreach and public participation needs. These needs extend from local officials, government staff, development professionals, and the general public. The LOC Water Resource Program was developed in 2007 to help meet the needs of these communities.
The program offers the opportunity for these communities to become Partners with LOC to bring targeted, consistent, high quality water resource education and outreach projects to their area on their terms. Many Phase II municipalities and counties choose to participate in this program to help them accomplish goals or permit milestones set by federal and state regulations. These permit milestones focus on the education of all peoples working, living and recreating within the jurisdiction of that community’s stormwater program.

Know what the major Cumberland River pollutant is? Well, it is the DIRT and
the other "stuff" from our yards, our roofs and our driveways that runs off
every time we have a good rain.
If we all kept our dirt in our own yards, the river would be a lot healthier
and safer for everyone.
Visit the Sediment page to learn more about Muddy Waters and what YOU can do
to keep your dirt at home.
