Community Water Resources Program

1. Executive Coverage

Program benefits can include any and all of the following according to your community's needs. Plus, the Executive Coverage gives your community the ability to add additional components to your service at the design and request of the Program Manager during the consultation process. Examples of program package benefits can include:

  1. Personalized program based on your community's needs
    1. Consultation with city manager, city planner, codes administrator, and public works director to see what type of education your local officials and municipal population need or desire.
    2. Phase II Minimum Measures program: consultation with SW manager to help construct a program that fits the needs of your community. Aimed at addressing MS4 milestones. This consultation can include evaluation of your community's annual report to determine what you do need.
  2. Seminars to fulfill CEU credits for planners, commission members, engineers, and any other municipal staff who benefit from educational programs focused on water resource issues. Examples include but are not limited to:
    1. Detailed instruction on State and Federal regulations addressing water resources
    2. How to address water quantity concerns (flooding and flashy streams)
    3. Public education and outreach strategies directed at water resource issues.
    4. Pre-construction stormwater runoff controls
      1. general construction sites
      2. public works sites
    5. Post-construction stormwater runoff controls
      1. general construction sites
      2. public works site
    6. Stream Restoration
    7. Planning for Quality Growth
  3. In-house training for new and continuing employees semi-annually on pollution prevention and good housekeeping methods.
  4. Training for illicit discharge detection
    1. basic chemical signatures
    2. in- field determination techniques
  5. An ordinance review workshop specific to your municipality
    1. municipal codes and ordinances [1 all day workshop]
    2. stormwater ordinances [1 all day workshop]
  6. Full access to all courses in the catalog, including open scheduling (upon availability) for all courses during the year [up to 15 classes/year] for community leaders and members.
  7. Community membership in the Cumberland River Compact.
  8. Organization of (2) stream cleanups in local watersheds to promote public participation.
  9. Provide (3) daytime nature walks along stream corridors for general public education and outreach.
  10. Provide spring outdoor classroom stream water quality testing for area high schools for grass roots educational opportunities

3. Standard Coverage

  1. program contains components A, B, F and G of Executive Coverage package.

4. Program package components will also be available on an individual basis upon request.
