WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN?

Why should you become a partner?

In your work, are you incorporating sustainability and green infrastructure? Are you tapping into the benefits of “going green” and need information on cost effective options?

Our partners have received multiple awards and have twice been honored with the TN Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Building Green. These current business partners have learned that Low impact development and water efficiency can actually reduce infrastructure costs and can give you a competitive edge over using traditional methods.

There are many ways our programs can help you meet your goals and enhance our watersheds at the same time. The Compact programs can be your bridge to information, education, partnerships, and through education, project site collaborations, and community public policy assistance.

  • The Building Outside the Box (BOB) Program focuses on assisting the development community in building “green” profitably with credible, certified high performance sites.
  • The Local Officials Curriculum (LOC) Program educates elected officials, city managers, and agency staff on water and energy-friendly growth and building practices.

In 2010 you can become a Compact Sustainable Business Partner, with full benefits, in the following roles:

  • Cumberland River Compact Corporate Sponsor – General Organizational Support.
  • BOB Sustainable Business Partner – Corporations, Developers, Builders, Organizations, & Vendors.
  • LOC Community Partner – Municipal Governments and Agency Departments.
  • Educational Partners – as sponsors and vendors for educational events, field trips, tours, training sponsors, website, and teaching materials.

We urge you to invest in a partnership with the Compact by including funds in your budget for educational programs, client outreach, and technical assistance benefits and services from our programs.
